Guillotine Dampers for heavily dust laden wast gas
Guillotine dampers were first developed in1971 for service in cement plants. Since then, the basic design has undergone a host of detail improvements.
The standard design features two rack and pinion systems, fitted on each side of the blade, actuated simultaneously by a common electric drive .Hence the square, even blade movement is assured.
In case of extreme dust burdens in the gas, a design featuring a double wire rope drive is recommended. In this instance the blade is pulled in both directions by two wire ropes each.
Depending upon service conditions seals of the MLO or the NICROFLEX – HIPERFORM type are selected. The sealing efficiency exceeds 99,98 % , with seal air it is 100%.

Guillotine damper with double cable drive. This design was developed in order to meet the requirements of very high temperature service combined with extrem gas dust burdens.
