Goggle valves provide a 100 % gas tight shut off of gas mains as required by the safety regulations of the UVV .The gas tight isolation remains effective in the event of loss of external power and corresponds to that of a blind flange connection.
They are used for the shut off of blast furnace or cokegas mains. Actuation may be manually, or by electric or hydraulic drives.
